José Ramón Serrano got a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 at “Universitat Politecnica de Valencia”, Spain. He currently works as Professor at this University. Professor Serrano manages a research group, about turbocharging and aftertreatment, within University’s Institute “CMT-Motores Termicos”. His main expertise is related with 1D gas-dynamics modelling, testing and analysis of performance and emissions from turbocharged engines during transient evolutions.

Richard Tay is Senior Research Fellow at RMIT University. He has worked at University of Melbourne, La Trobe University, Queensland University, University of Calgary, Lincoln University, Nanyang Technological University, Chinese University Hong Kong and as a visiting scholar at MIT in USA. Armando Cartenì is professor in Transportation Planning at the University of Naples, Federico II. In 2004, he got a PhD degree on Transportation Engineering at the Department of Transportation Engineering, University of Naples. In 2000 he got a Civil Engineering degree on Transportation at the University of Naples. His research activity has mainly regarded: transportation planning; transportation decision-making process and public engagement; sustainable mobility; public transport; discrete choice models for transport user behaviour; freight transport and container terminal simulation modelling. He has been participated in many research projects and has author of more than 80 papers published in journals, book series and conferences proceedings.

Susana Azevedo is an Associated Professor with Habilitation of Logistics in the Business and Economics Department at the University of Beira Interior (Portugal). She holds MSc and Ph.D degree in Management. Her research areas are sustainability; performance; automotive supply chain; lean, agile, green, and resilient of supply chains. She has more than 300 scientific works published in books, chapters, articles and conference proceedings. She is a reviewer for many journals and international conferences and editor-in-chief, associate editor and editorial board member of several international journals of reference.

Maria Jesús L. Boada received her Industrial Engineering and doctoral degrees from UC3M in 1996 and 2002, respectively. She was research assistant in the Department of Systems and Automation Engineering at UC3M between 1997 and 2002. She has worked in control architectures and development of learning skills in autonomous mobile robots. She is currently professor in the UC3M Mechanical Engineering Department. Her research area includes control of vehicle dynamics, parameter optimization, sensor fusion and modelling of magnetorheological dampers. She has published more than 60 scientific publications.

Jianquan Cheng, is currently a reader in urban studies at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and a director of transport at the MMU Crime and Well-being Big Data Centre. Jianquan has had a BSc in computational mathematics (Shandong University), MSc in GIS for urban applications (Twente University) and PhD in human geography (Utrecht University). Jianquan has also worked in Wuhan University as an associate professor until 2006. He has completed several transport-related projects based on Chinese, Dutch and British cities using GIS and big data methods and published about 50 journal papers including Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Transport Geography. His main interests include urban and regional analytics including transport modelling, urbanization in China (including sustainable transportation).

Jao-Hong Cheng is a professor of Information Management at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He has published in many leading international journals, including OMEGA: the International Journal of Management Science, Transportation Part E, International Journal of Information Management, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Industrial Marketing Management, and Tourism Management. His current research interests include supply chain management, e-business, collaborative commerce, and open innovation.

Suh-Wen Chiou received her Ph.D. degree in Transport Studies in 1998 from UCL, University of London, UK. She served as a Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science, KCL, from 1997 to 1999. In 2002, she took the post as an Assistant Professor at Department of Information Management at National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. In 2008, she took a chair as a fully Professor. She has published more than 40 papers in international SCIE/SSCI journals such as Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part B, Computers and Operations Research, Applied Mathematics and Computation, Applied Mathematical Modeling, Information Sciences, Automatica, and IEEE Trans. on Automatic Control. Her research interests include ITS, area traffic control, transport modeling, traffic management, and operations research. Prof. Chiou is currently members of editorial advisory board of The Open Transportation Journal, The Open Operational Research Journal and The Open Management Journal.

Alberto Doria received the Laurea degree (honors) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Padova (1984). Then he joined the Italian Research Authority, becoming member of the design group of RFX, an Euratom fusion experiment. He received the degree “Perfezionamento in Ingegneria del Plasma e della Fusione Termonucleare Controllata” from the University of Padova (1987). Alberto Doria in 1990 joined the University of Padova and carried out researches in vibrations and two-wheeled vehicles. In 2002 Alberto Doria became Associate Professor of Mechanics of Machines. The present research activities are: dynamics of light vehicles; modal analysis and identification; vibration energy harvesting.

Hamed Fazlollahtabar has been graduated in BSc and MSc of Industrial Engineering at Mazandaran University of Science and Technology, Babol, Iran. He received PhD of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran. He completed Postdoctoral research fellowship at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in the area of Reliability Engineering for Complex Systems at 2017. He is in the editorial board several journals. His research interests are mathematical modeling, robot path planning, reliability engineering, supply chain planning, and manufacturing systems. He has published over 200 research papers in international book chapters, journals and conferences. Also he published 5 books which three of them are internationally distributed to the academicians.

Massimo Garai is full professor in Environmental Physics and Applied Acoustics at the University of Bologna, Italy. He got PhD degree in Environmental Physics from the University of Bologna. Author/co-author of more than 230 papers and 3 books. His scientific interests include: outdoor sound propagation, environmental impact assessment, noise control, digital signal processing, properties of materials, sustainability. Best Paper Award at the IBPC 2015. General chairman of the ISTD8, 2017. Outstanding Reviewer in 2013 and 2015 for the journal Applied Acoustics. President of the Acoustics and Vibration committee of UNI (Italian Standardisation Organisation) and convenor of CEN/TC 256/SC 1/WG 40 Noise barriers for rail infrastructure.

Mohamed Ghazel is a senior researcher and deputy director of the Evaluation and Safety of Automated Transport Systems (ESTAS) Research Team, French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks (IFSTTAR). He has been involved in several national and European research projects dealing with security and safety of transportation systems. Dr. Ghazel is a member of the IFAC Technical Committee TC 7.4 on Transportation Systems and acts as an expert for the European Commission in the framework of innovation programs.

Dr. Gitelman obtained her Ph.D. in technical sciences from Moscow Transport University. She is a senior research scientist and a head of the road safety research group at the Transportation Research Institute, Technion (Haifa, Israel). She is engaged in evaluation research in road safety and traffic engineering for over twenty years and has published over 90 journal and conference papers.

Dr. Habib earned PhD degree in Computer Science (2004) from Kagoshima University Japan followed by the award of Postdoctoral fellowship of two years by JSPS. Currently, holding the position of Professor and Chairman at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore. He has nearly 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration in Pakistan, Germany and Japan. Dr. Jung-Seok Kim received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from KAIST in 1994 and 1999, respectively. Prof. Lorange is Honorary President of the Zurich Institute of Business Education. He is currently Emeritus Professor at IMD, was formerly president of the Norwegian School of Management, Oslo. He was affiliated with the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in various assignments, including director for the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and The William H. Wurster Center for International Management Studies. Mr. Lorange serves on the board of directors of several corporations. Giovanni Lutzemberger was born in Pisa on 1981. He received his Master’s degree in Land Vehicles Engineering in 2007. He received his PhD title in Land Vehicles and Transportation System in 2011. From 2011 to 2014, he holds a Research grant on modelling and experimental activities on lithium batteries. In 2014, he became researcher in Electric Power Systems area at University of Pisa. In 2016, he became senior researcher in Electric Power Systems area, always at University of Pisa. Its research field is focused on feeding systems for electrified transportation systems, electric and hybrid propulsion systems, electrochemical storage systems.

Dr. Francesco Di Natale, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Unit Operations and Environmental Pollution Control at the Department of Chemical, Material and Industrial Production Engineering of the University of Naples, “Federico II” in Italy. His research interests cover a wide range of Environmental Chemical Engineering topics, including gas and water cleaning, ultrafine particle capture and energy recovery, especially for marine applications, as well as recovery of precious metals and the chemo-electro-hydrodynamics of charged sprays. Currently, Dr. Kim is a professor in the Graduate School of Transportation at the Korea National University of Transportation. He has published more than 100 scientific publications and delivered transportation engineering software and patents.

Dr. Kim is an associate professor at the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering of Hanbat National University (HNU), Daejeon, Korea. He obtained his BS, MS, Ph.D degrees in the Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. Before joining the HNU, he has worked for Samsung Electronics as a senior engineer and Hyundai Motor Company as a manager in the field of telematics and car informatics.

Giacomo Mantriota born in Monopoli (Italy) in 1964, he graduated from Università di Bari (Italy) in Mech. Eng. in 1987 cum laude. In 1993 he obtained the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Bari. Giacomo Mantriota is Full Professor of Mechanical Design at the Politecnico di Bari – Italy.

Dr. Mahboub joined the University of Kentucky in 1988, his primary research was focused in the area of mechanistic characterization of construction materials and pavements. In addition to over seventy peer-reviewed publications, he has co-authored two books. He has served as an Associate Dean of Engineering as well as Director of Graduate Studies. He has worked with various domestic and international academic institutions to recruit high quality engineering students. He has also worked with international partners to expand education abroad opportunities for UK students. He received his BSCE from the University of Texas (Austin), and MSCE and Ph.D. from A&M University (Texas). He is a registered professional engineer (PE) in Kentucky, and an ASCE Fellow.

Sara holds a bachelor of civil engineering and received her masters and PhD degrees in transportation and traffic engineering. She has 12 years of work and research experience in the field of traffic and transportation. She has been working at RMIT University, from 2010. Sara is highly engaged in a range of research and professional activities within and beyond RMIT. She has published numerous journal papers, and presented in many prestigious conferences in traffic/transport engineering. Prof. Obeng received PhD in City and Regional Planning concentrating in Transportation Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Dr. Tae Hoon OUM, (MBA, PhD from University of British Columbia) is Professor Emeritus, Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia, and Chairman of the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS). Dr. Oum focuses on economics, management strategy and policy analysis in transport, infrastructure and logistics sectors. Panos M. Pardalos serves as distinguished professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Florida. Additionally, he is the Paul and Heidi Brown Preeminent Professor of industrial and systems engineering. He is also the director of the Center for Applied Optimization. Pardalos is a world leading expert in global and combinatorial optimization. Dr. Young K. Ro is an Associate Professor of Operations Management in the College of Business at The University of Michigan at Dearborn. Prof. Yoram Shiftan is the head of Technion Transportation Research Institute. He teaches travel behavior with a focus on activity-based modeling and response to policies, the complex relationships between transport, the environment and land use, transport economics and project evaluation. Harry Timmermans is Head of the Urban Planning Group of the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. He has research interests in modeling decision-making processes and decision support systems in a variety of application domains, including transportation. He currently leading the Connected Traffic and Complex Systems Lab at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), which looks into modelling and managing the operations of heterogeneous intelligent traffic flow in networks. Dr. Yair Wiseman got a Summa Cum Laude M.Sc. and a PhD from Bar-Ilan University and completed two Post-Docs - one at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and one in Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Wiseman authored two books and has collaborated with other partners and received research grants to run an active laboratory from inter alia Sun Microsystems, Intel, Polak Foundation and the Open University. Dr. Wiseman has been supervising many graduate students and an interesting point is that Albert Einstein is Dr. Wiseman's academic great-great-grandfather (i.e. the advisor of the advisor of the advisor of Dr. Wiseman's advisor).

Dr. Konstantinos E. Vogiatzis obtained his Ph.D. (Jan 1981) in Regional Analysis and Rural Planning from Université de Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France. Dr. Vogiatzis’s research interests focus on the protection of the urban acoustic environment, transportation noise, with emphasis on air borne & ground borne noise & vibrations. Furthermore, his research interest is also on the mass urban transportation networks, i.e. Metro, Tram & High Speed Trains, as well as airport operation, urban and semi-urban road transportation infrastructure focusing on the integrated environmental & land use planning management. He, as an author/co-author, has been involved in the publication of more than 85 articles in various international journals.

Dr. Meng Xu is a Professor of the State Key Laboratory of Rail Traffic Control and Safety and the Institute of Transportation System Science and Engineering (TSSE) at Beijing Jiaotong University. His research focuses on transport policy analysis, transport and land use studies, sustainable urbanization, modeling and analysis of transportation systems, network equilibrium models and solution algorithm development, and large-scale traffic data sets analysis. He is associate editor of the International journal of urban sciences, and serves on the board of several other journals in Transportation. He is also the international committee of the International Symposium on Travel Demand Management.

Zaili Yang is Professor of Maritime Transport at LJMU, UK. He received his PhD in Maritime Safety from LJMU, UK, in 2006. Prof. Yang’s research interests are analysis and modelling of safety, resilience and sustainability of transport networks, particularly maritime and logistics systems. His research findings have been published in more than 180 refereed papers in risk and supply chain areas, including 77 (60 SCI/SSCI-cited) journal and 86 conference papers. Prof. Yang is serving editorial board of 9 transport/maritime journals. He also served as a member of review boards for national research councils of USA, UK, EU, Norway and China. He has received 7 best paper awards.

Claude M. Penchina joined the faculty at UMass Amherst in 1965, one year after completing his doctorate at Syracuse and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois. A productive researcher, his research centered on opto-electronics, he also contributed to fields as diverse as physics education and transportation research. The Penchina collection includes a range of correspondence, lecture notes, grant proposals, and manuscripts, reflecting every phase of Penchina’s career from graduate school through retirement. The collection includes valuable research notes and communications with other physical scientists, as well as a large quantity of material relating to Penchina’s interest in undergraduate education.

Benedetto Barabino received the PhD degree in transportation technology and economics from the University of Palermo, Italy, in 2007. Since 2016, he has been the head of Department of Studies and Researches of CTM, the local public transportation operator in Cagliari (Italy). His primary research interests include intelligent transportation systems, public transport planning, operations, service quality and fare evasion. Since 2012, he has published as first or co-author more than 25 SCI/SSCI indexed journal papers and peer-reviewed conference papers in transportation and quality of service. He serves as an editor of journal “Logistics and Supply Chain Management”.

Dr. Young-Ji Byon was born in 1979 in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Toronto, Canada in 1994. He received his BASc (2003) degree from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada; and MASc (2005), and PhD (2011) degrees from the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada, specializing in Transportation Engineering.He is currently an Associate Chair in the Department of Civil Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering at the Khalifa University of Science Technology and Research, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Prof. Ernesto Cipriani is working in at the University of "Roma Tre". He did his PhD in Civil Engineering at “La Sapienza” University of Roma since 1997-2000; after post-doctoral fellowship he become Assistant Professor in 2004 at "Roma Tre" University where. Prof. Cipriani has research and professional activities concerning simulation models and optimization methods of transportation systems for 20 years. His major fields are public and private transportation network design, road traffic control, information systems and transportation demand forecasting, working both at academic and at professional level. He has published more than 60 papers in national and international scientific literature, has tackled numerous topics of transport systems engineering acting as scientific coordinator.

Hassen Fourati , PhD, is currently an associate professor of the electrical engineering and computer science at the University Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble, France, and a member of the Networked Controlled Systems Team (NeCS), affiliated to the Automatic Control Department of the GIPSA-Lab. He earned his bachelor of engineering degree in electrical engineering at the National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia; master degree in automated systems and control at the University Claude Bernard, Lyon, France; and PhD degree in automatic control at the University of Strasbourg, France, in 2006, 2007, and 2010, respectively. His research interests include nonlinear filtering and estimation and multisensor fusion with applications in navigation, robotics, and traffic management.

Khaled Ksaibati, Ph.D., P.E. secured his BS degree from Wayne State University and his MS and Ph.D. from Purdue University. Dr. Ksaibati worked for a couple of years for the Indiana Department of Transportation prior to coming to the University of Wyoming in 1990. He was promoted to an Associate professor in 1997 and full professor in 2002. Dr. Ksaibati has been the director of the Wyoming Technology Transfer Center for the past ten years.

Bartosz Sawik holds Executive Course on Innovation and New Technology in Science at University of California at Berkeley. Received PhD with honors in Operations Engineering at School of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Electronics, AGH University of Science & Technology, Krakow. Received MSc, Eng. with honors in Management Science at School of Management, AGH University of Science & Technology, Krakow. He was a Visiting Scholar at University of California at Berkeley, Invited Researcher at Public University of Navarre, Pamplona, Visiting Professor at University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, IN3-UOC, Castelldefels, Barcelona, University of Lisbon, IST, Lisbon.

Dr. Daniel(Jian) Sun is a professor and deputy chair of Department of Transportation and Shipping Logistics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He obtained Ph.D in Transportation Engineering, University of Florida in 2009. His main research interests include Internet of Vehicles and control, urban driver behavior and simulation, urban transportation environment. He has published more than 40 SCI/SSCI indexed journal papers since 2010, and been served in journal editorial committee boards of Journal of International Transportation (since 2012), Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English Version) (since 2014), and the chief member of road and traffic engineering, Shanghai Society of Civil Engineering.

Dr. Jenn-Rong Lin is currently a professor at Department of Transportation Science, National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung, Taiwan. Dr. Lin has 13 Peer-Reviewed Journal Papers and 16 Conference Presentations to his credit. Dr. Lin did M.E. and Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1999 and 2002 respectively.
